There are many ways that you might choose to make your way through the unit. Session 1 – Maximise innovation within the team – Purple Tiles

This includes:

    What is innovation?
    Having a common goal
    Team meetings

A few points to think about for your blog:

What experiences have you had of belonging to a team?
Consider negative and positive experiences

How could you determine the needs and wants of the team?

Consider the different ways people contribute to a team


Session 2 – Effective teams - Green tiles

This includes:

    Characteristics of a team
    Group dynamics
    Challenges and barriers
    Planning and timing

A few points to think about for your blog:

What characteristics might be found in any team? (leaders, followers, bossy, submissive …)

Positive and negative impact of the group dynamics

How can you break down the barriers and overcome the challenges of the team dynamics

Should a team have ground rules?  Why?


Session 3: Support and guide colleagues – Pink tiles

This includes:

    Strategies to stimulate innovation
    Pro-active participation

A few points to think about for your blog:

How could you support and encourage members of your team?

What is ‘external stimuli’ – come up with some examples


Session 4: Reflect on how the team is working – Blue tiles

This includes:

    Feedback – reflect and debrief
    Celebrate success
    Challenges to on-going innovation

Are feedback, reflecting and debriefing important?  Why/why not?

How could you identify and celebrate success?  Would others agree with your thoughts?

What are the challenges for continuing innovation in a team in the future?
